SURFACE PREPARATION
Prepare bare wood for finishing by sanding in the direction of the grain. Begin with #150 grit sandpaper and progress though #180 and #220 grits. Before applying oil, remove all sanding dust and dirt with a vacuum.
APPLICATION
- Watco Butcher Block Oil & Finish is a ready-to-use product.
- Do not thin the product.
- Use only at room temperature.
- Mix material thoroughly before application and stir occasionally during use.
- Apply with a soft, clean cloth.
- Allow 6 hours of dry time before re-coating.
- Prior to re-coating, lightly scuff sand with #400 grit sandpaper.
- Allow 72 hours before normal use.
- Hand wash the surface before contact with food.
- DO NOT WASH IN DISHWASHER.
- Additional coats can be applied to build a finish if desired.
- Do not apply over other finishes.
- Proper drying may be inhibited on objects with small openings, such as canisters, when applied on interior surfaces.
CLEAN UP
Application tools or brushes should be cleaned with mineral spirits or paint thinner.
