Surface Preparation:

Use Penofin Pro-Tech Stripper at temperatures when wood is not hot to the touch. To remove any debris, sweep, or use a power blower. Protect bordering metal and glass surfaces and tape off any areas not being stripped. Dampen surrounding vegetation with water.

Application:

Shake the product well before use. Do not mix or combine it with other products. Begin by wetting the surface to be stripped with water. Using a plastic garden pump sprayer, apply a generous coat of Penofin Pro-Tech Stripper #1. This powerful solution will soften or dissolve most oil-based coatings within 15 to 30 minutes. To keep the wood surface wet during this process, lightly mist it with additional solution as needed.

After 15 to 30 minutes, scrub the surface thoroughly using a non-metallic bristle brush or a long-handled push broom. Rinse the area completely with clean water using a garden hose equipped with a spray attachment. Avoid using a pressure washer, as it is not recommended.

For optimal results and perfect preparation for Penofin wood finishes, follow up with Pro-Tech Cleaner #2 and Pro-Tech Brightener #3. Please note that Penofin Pro-Tech Stripper #1 is not effective at removing water-based or resin-based coatings. If the wood has been previously treated with these types of products, it is advised to use a general wood stripper or an acrylic stripper to remove the old coating.

To ensure the best finish, always follow the stripping process with Pro-Tech Cleaner #2 and Pro-Tech Brightener #3 for a flawless surface ready for treatment.

For Wood Surfaces:

Follow the application with Penofin Pro-Tech Brightener (Step#3), to remove any tannin stains, and to return the wood to its proper Ph before staining with Penofin. 

Always wear rubber gloves, eye protection, and sturdy footwear during application. Test a small area first to ensure the desired results. Be cautious, as the surface may become slippery. Avoid inhaling the powder, as it can irritate mucous membranes, cause a runny nose, and make your eyes water.
