Surface Preparation:
Remove all dirt, grease, oil, salt and chemical contaminants by washing the surface with Krud Kutter® Original Cleaner Degreaser, commercial detergent or other suitable cleaner. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow to fully dry. All surfaces must be dry at time of application.
Mixing:
Stir each can briefly before mixing. Combine Part A with Part B, then mix thoroughly for approximately 2 minutes until the color is completely uniform. There’s no need to wait after mixing—IMPORTANT: Ensure you apply the activated Dry Erase Paint within 1 hour of preparation.
Application:
For optimal results, apply the product when air and surface temperatures range between 50-90ºF (10-32ºC) and the relative humidity is below 85%. This ensures proper drying. If using on new drywall, Masonite, cement, or wood, first coat the surface with a white latex primer, following the manufacturer’s instructions. However, for pre-painted drywall or metal surfaces, no primer is needed. Before painting, use painter’s tape to mask off the desired area. Pour the paint into a tray and use a dense foam roller for a smooth finish. For smaller areas, a foam brush is ideal.
For best results, apply the product over a white or light-colored surface. When working with darker surfaces, it’s recommended to prime with a white or light-colored base. The surface will be dry to the touch within 3-4 hours. After 1 hour, carefully remove the painter’s tape used for masking. Allow the surface to cure for 3 days before writing on it. Once fully cured, Dry Erase markers can be used and easily wiped off with an eraser or lint-free cloth. If faint marks remain, simply clean the surface with a dry erase cleaner. Avoid using general household cleaners, abrasive materials, or rough cloths, as these can damage the surface. Allow the area to dry fully before applying markers again for optimal performance.
Dry & Recoat Times:
Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Recoat after 24 hours.
