Graco TexSpray RTX 1400SI Texture Sprayer, 17H572
The Graco TexSpray RTX 1400SI is an electric, air-assisted sprayer for interior wall and ceiling texture. It pumps up to 1.4 gallons per minute from a 10 gallon hopper and has a built-in 6.1 cfm air compressor. Graco sells it to residential and remodelling contractors who apply texture on smaller jobs, up to 250 gallons a year.

What It's For
Orange peel, splatter, knockdown, simulated acoustic (popcorn) ceilings, drywall mud and joint compound. Water-based texture materials only. Don't spray solvent-based or flammable materials. Graco lists it for texture, not paint. Use a 25 ft hose or shorter.

Setup & Use
- Plug in to a grounded 15 A outlet. Use a 12 AWG or heavier 3-wire cord.
- Fit a nozzle and the burp guard on the gun. Start with the gun air valve fully open.
- Mix texture in a separate bucket until smooth and lump-free. Let ceiling texture set 15 minutes, then remix.
- Prime with 1 gallon of water in the hopper, then pour in the texture. Trigger the gun until a steady stream comes out.
- Set the pattern. Slowly close the gun air valve. Use the least air that gives a good pattern, to limit bounce-back.
- Relieve pressure when you stop: switch off, wait 7 seconds, trigger the gun into the hopper, open the air valve.
- Clean up. Pump out the texture, then circulate 2 to 4 gallons of clean water through the hopper, hose and gun.
FAQ
1Which nozzle should I use for each texture?
Graco's chart suggests 4 or 6 mm for orange peel, 6 or 8 mm for splatter, 6 or 8 mm for knockdown, and 6 or 8 mm for simulated acoustic. Test on cardboard first.
2Can I spray paint with it?
Graco sells it as a texture sprayer, and its manual limits it to water-based texture materials. For paint, choose an airless sprayer.
3How long does one hopper last?
At the maximum 1.4 GPM, a full 10 gallon hopper is about 7 minutes of continuous spraying. Real jobs take longer because you stop and start. Graco recommends up to 250 gallons a year.
4How do I mix the texture?
Mix in a separate container to a smooth, lump-free consistency. Graco's thickness gauge should sink into the mix within 10 seconds. Let ceiling texture set 15 minutes, then remix.
5Can I use a longer hose?
No. Graco's manual says not to use more than 25 ft of material hose, which is the length in the box.
6What power does it need?
A 110 to 120 V, 15 A circuit. If you use a generator, Graco requires at least 3,500 W.
7Can I leave it in a cold garage or truck in winter?
It works between 4 and 46 °C. Graco warns that water or texture left inside below freezing can damage the motor or pump, so drain it fully and store it where it won't freeze.
8What warranty does it have?
Graco's manual states 12 months from the date of sale. Graco's brochure lists 3 years. Contact us for the terms that apply.

If you are dissatisfied, you can return your sprayer to us or any authorized service center within 30 days of purchase and either exchange the product for an identical sprayer or trade up to a larger Graco sprayer for an extra cost. The service center simply orders the replacement sprayer from Graco and completes a warranty claim for credit for the original sprayer.
- Claim date must be no more than 60 days beyond the purchase date for return authorization.
- Sprayers must be received back at Graco within 30 days from the claim date.
- Graco will pay the return freight if an approved carrier is used, however, the service center is responsible for packaging the return to prevent damage in transit.
