The Graco Contractor PC is a professional airless spray gun for architectural paints and coatings. The trigger length adjusts to 2, 3 or 4 fingers, and the ProConnect cartridge lets you rebuild the gun in minutes by swapping one part. This model, 17Y043, comes with the RAC X LP 517 SwitchTip, the low-pressure version of the 517 tip.

Setup & Use
- Relieve pressure and engage the trigger lock before you connect or change anything.
- Connect the hose to the 1/4 NPSM swivel inlet. Combined hose length must not exceed 500 ft (150 m) so the grounding stays continuous.
- Set the trigger to 2, 3 or 4 fingers.
- Check the tip and guard are tight and the filter is in place.
- Prime and test on cardboard, then raise pressure only until the spray pattern is clean.
- Flush the gun, clean the filter and wipe the outside after each work shift.

1What is the difference between the 17Y042 and 17Y043?
Both are Contractor PC guns. Graco lists the 17Y042 with the RAC X 517 SwitchTip and the 17Y043 with the RAC X LP 517 low-pressure tip. This page is for the 17Y043.
2What is the maximum pressure?
3,600 psi (24.8 MPa). Your sprayer and hose must be rated for at least the pressure you set.
3Will it work with my sprayer or another brand's hose?
The inlet is a 1/4 NPSM swivel. Graco doesn't publish a list of compatible sprayers, so check your hose's thread and pressure rating. Contact us if you're unsure.
4What does LP mean on the tip?
LP is Graco's low-pressure version of the 517 tip. It is designed to spray at lower pressure than the standard 517. The size number sets the fan width and orifice.
5Can I use kit 288488 on this gun?
No. Kit 288488 is listed in Graco's manual for the Contractor and FTx guns. The Contractor PC is rebuilt with the ProConnect cartridge 17Y297.
6How do I rebuild the gun?
Swap in a new 17Y297 cartridge, which contains the needle and wear parts. Follow Graco's Contractor PC manual for the steps.
7Which filter should I use?
It ships with a 60 mesh filter. Graco also lists 100 mesh and combo filters for the PC gun. The Easy Out filters list 287032 (60 mesh) and 287033 (100 mesh).
8What does the warranty cover?
Graco repairs or replaces parts it finds defective in material or workmanship for 12 months from the date of sale. It excludes misuse, poor maintenance and non-Graco parts.
