Surface Preparation:
Sweep the surface with a stiff broom or use a blower to clean area of debris. Thoroughly saturate the surface with plain water to help remove dirt and prevent streaking. The product is most effective when wood is not hot to the touch. Protect bordering metal surfaces. Dampen surrounding vegetation with water.
Application:
To prepare the Penofin 1st Step Prep solution, mix one to two cups of the powder with one gallon of clean water. Stir thoroughly until fully dissolved. Using a plastic pump sprayer, brush, or mop, generously apply the solution to the surface. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then gently scrub the area with a stiff-bristled, non-metallic brush. Rinse the surface thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before applying Penofin Exotic Hardwood Formula. Important: Do not let the solution dry on the surface. Keep it moist by misting occasionally and continue to agitate with a broom or stiff, non-metallic brush as needed.
Safety Precautions: Always wear rubber gloves, eye protection, and sturdy footwear during application, as the surface will be slippery. Avoid inhaling the powder, as it can irritate mucous membranes, causing a runny nose and watery eyes.
Clean-Up:
• Thoroughly rinse all equipment with water.
