INSL-X Aqua Lock Plus 100% Acrylic Primer Sealer
INSL-X Aqua Lock Plus is a water-based, 100% acrylic primer sealer for interior and exterior surfaces. It blocks water stains, tannin, smoke, crayon, graffiti, lipstick and fingerprints, bonds to glossy surfaces, and gives latex or oil topcoats a smooth, even base. It's low VOC, recoats in 1 hour and cleans up with soap and water.

Where to Use It
Drywall, plaster, acoustical tile, wood trim and doors, siding, fences, shutters, cedar and redwood, Formica, ceramic, PVC, masonry, stucco, concrete, block and galvanized metal. Also under wallpaper for easy hanging and removal. Apply when the surface is 10 °C or warmer and not within 5° of the dew point. Don't thin.

Aqua Lock Plus or Prime Lock Plus?
Both block water, smoke and tannin stains. Aqua Lock Plus is water-based, recoats in 1 hour and bonds to more slick surfaces. Prime Lock Plus is oil-based, covers more per can and works down to 7 °C. For cabinets, laminate and glass, use Stix.

Application Guide
- Clean off dirt, grease and chalk. Kill mildew with a bleach solution.
- Scrape loose paint and dull glossy surfaces.
- Apply a generous coat by brush or roller, or spray and back-roll.
- Topcoat after 1 hour. Give severe stains a second coat.

3White or black primer?
Use white under light and mid colours. Use black under deep colours like navy, charcoal and black, so you need fewer topcoats. White can also be tinted with up to 2 oz of colorant.

It's dry to the touch in 30 minutes and ready to recoat in 1 hour. Over glossy surfaces, topcoat in 1–2 hours and allow 3–4 days for full scrape resistance.

Yes. It's listed for glossy surfaces, Formica, ceramic and PVC. Benjamin Moore still recommends a light sanding to dull the gloss first.

Yes. It's made for interior and exterior surfaces, including wood siding, fences, trim, stucco, masonry and galvanized metal. Don't paint within 5° of the dew point or late in the day when dew may form.
7Does Aqua Lock Plus stop mildew?
It contains an agent that inhibits mildew growth on the paint film. Kill existing mildew first with a bleach solution, rinse and let it dry 24–48 hours. It won't fix a moisture problem, so keep bathrooms ventilated.

How to apply
Seal it in one coat.
- Clean. Wash off dirt, grease and chalk with warm soapy water. Kill mildew with a bleach solution and let it dry.
- Scrape and sand loose paint, and feather the edges.
- Dull glossy surfaces like Formica, tile and glossy paint with a light sanding.
- Stir well. Don't thin.
- Brush or roll a generous coat in an M pattern. If you spray, back-roll to work it into the surface.
- Topcoat after 1 hour with latex or oil. Give severe stains a second coat.
