Fuji T-Model T70 HVLP Turbine Spray Gun, Bottom Feed (5070)

The Fuji T-Model T70 is a bottom-feed HVLP spray gun with a 1 quart (1000 cc) pressurized cup. It is a non-bleed turbine gun, so it stirs up less dust in the spray area. Choose the air cap size you need, from 0.8 mm to 2.5 mm. The standard size is 1.3 mm.

Where to Use It

Fine finishing on cabinets, furniture, doors and trim. Fuji says 1.0, 1.3 or 1.5 mm suit most fine finishing, and 2.0 or 2.5 mm suit heavier paints at 50 seconds and above on a Ford #4 cup. It is a turbine gun, not a compressor gun. Keep the gun from tilting past horizontal.

T70 or G-XPC?

The G-XPC is a gravity gun with a side-mounted 400 cc cup and a 1.4 mm air cap. It suits tight spots and small parts. The T70 holds a full quart, so it suits larger pieces. Need another air cap later? See the 5100 series air cap sets.

Setup & Use

Strain the coating and check its viscosity. Dip a #4 Ford cup, lift it out, and time it until the stream first breaks.
Fill the cup and fit the lid. Keep the diaphragm's small hole to the rear and not directly below the air hole in the nipple.
Connect the turbine hose and the cup's pressure tube. The nipple rotates for either hand.
Set the fluid control. Turn it clockwise to close, then back out until you get enough material.
Test on cardboard from 6 to 8 in. The trigger has two stages: air first, then material. Turn the fan control clockwise for a smaller pattern.
Clean after each use. Depressurize, pour out the leftover, wipe the cup with a solvent-soaked cloth, fill with fresh solvent and spray it through.
Strip down the needle, nozzle and air cap for a deeper clean from time to time.

1Which air cap size should I choose?

Fuji says 1.0, 1.3 or 1.5 mm suit most fine finishing. Use 2.0 or 2.5 mm for heavier paints at 50 seconds and above. The 1.3 mm is the standard size.

2Can I change the air cap later?

Yes. The air cap sets are numbered 5100-1 to 5100-7. We stock the 5100 series air cap sets.

3Which turbines does the T70 work with?

Fuji lists the T70 as a gun option on its Mini-Mite PLATINUM series. Fuji's manual doesn't list every compatible turbine, so contact us to confirm yours.

4T70 vs T75G vs G-XPC: what is the difference?

The T70 is bottom feed with a 1 qt cup. The T75G is gravity feed with a 600 cc nylon cup. The G-XPC is gravity feed with a side-mounted 400 cc cup.

5How do I check viscosity?

Submerge a #4 Ford cup in the coating, lift it out and start timing. Stop when the steady stream first breaks. Compare the time with the coating maker's directions.

6Can I spray at an angle or overhead?

Fuji's manual says not to tilt the gun past horizontal unless you use a pressurized liner cup system.

7How do I rebuild it?

The 5262 kit replaces wear items such as springs and seals. We stock the Fuji 5262 rebuild kit for T70/T75 guns.

8What warranty does it have?

Fuji gives a 24-month limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. Its manual adds 12 months if you register within 30 days. Contact us with questions.
